
Atlantic City, New Jersey, Man is Guilty Of Criminal Coercion
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has obtained yet another guilty plea.
This time regarding criminal coercion, involving an Atlantic City, New Jersey man.
Dalvin Chalmers Pleads Guilty
Chalmers, 39 years old, from Atlantic City, New Jersey, appeared before New Jersey Superior Court Judge Joseph Levin on Friday, July 18, 2025.
The Penalty
Chalmers pled guilty to third-degree criminal coercion.
The recommended sentence is three years in New Jersey state prison.
Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Has Released The Following Details About The Chalmers Case
On October 25, 2024, Chalmers approached a male while the male was parking his truck on Richmond and Winchester Avenues in Atlantic City. Chalmers threatened to assault the male if he did not get out of the truck. The male called the police with a description of the suspect. Officers of the Atlantic City Police Department were able to locate the suspect, and the male confirmed this was the suspect that approached him while parking his truck. The suspect was identified as Chalmers, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

About two weeks later, on November 7, 2024, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said that Chalmers once again approached the same male. They say that Chalmers threatened to assault the male and told him ”You better not show up for court", regarding the earlier incident.
The Atlantic City Police arrested Chalmers, and he was detained following his detention hearing on November 26, 2024.
Chalmers Sentencing
Chalmers will be sentenced on October 24, 2025. Judge Levin ordered that Chalmers will remain detained, pending his sentencing.
