The Atlantic City, New Jersey Police Department has conducted an investigation and have concluded the following:

On May 25, 2024, at 10:26 PM, patrol officers responded to a report of a juvenile shot in the 100 block of north Rhode Island Avenue. Arriving officers located an 11-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound. The officers rendered aid until the boy was transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Divi-sion, with non-life-threatening injuries. An investigation by patrol officers and later detectives of the Violent Crimes Unit identified two suspects, Yanirah Davis and Yontay Coop-er. The women arrived on the street with a hammer and a handgun to encounter a group that they had a prior altercation with. They began to smash out a vehicle's window then began to shoot at the group. One of the fired projectiles entered a residence and struck the victim while he was lying on the floor, according to the Atlantic City Police Department.

The investigation continued into yesterday, whereby at 10:26 p.m., Atlantic City patrol officers responded to a report of a juvenile who was shot in the 100 block of north Rhode Island Avenue.

The police officers discovered an 11-year-old boy, who had a gunshot wound.

The Atlantic City police officers provided aid until the boy could be transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division.

It has been determined that the 11-year-old boy has non-life-threatening injuries.

The Atlantic City Police Department released this additional information:
