Atlantic City Prepares For Airshow
Officials are hoping Atlantic City's Airshow will draw people to the resort who normally wouldn't visit during the middle of the week in June.
The show will take place this Wednesday instead of on a Friday. And it won't feature any military aircraft for the first time because of federal budget cuts.
Richard Perniciaro of Atlantic Cape's Center for Regional and Business Research tells the Press of Atlantic City last year's airshow drew 908,000. He says 289,095 were from outside the region who would not normally have been visiting on a typical Friday in August.
He says the 289,095 who attended spent $36 on food and beverage, $29 on shopping, $22 on gambling and $10 on lodging, among other things.
