Atlantic City Principal Has Talented Criminal Attorney With Conflict?
Atlantic City, New Jersey High School Principal Constance Days-Chapman has hit the lottery with her selection of Lee Vartan as her criminal defense attorney.
The only potential down side is that Vartan works for a highly respected law firm that currently has a legal services contract with the City of Atlantic City.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has criminally charged Days-Chapman with:
- second-degree Official Misconduct.
- third-degree Hindering Apprehension of
- Another.
- fourth-degree Obstruction of Justice.
- disorderly persons Failure to Report Child Abuse.
Vartan is one of the premier criminal defense and trial attorneys in the state of New Jersey.
Vartan has been on short lists in the past for United States Attorney for New Jersey and Attorney General of New Jersey.
Vartan works with Jeffrey Chiesa, who is a friend of mine, and, a great attorney … and, a great American.
Chiesa served as the 59th Attorney General of New Jersey and Chief Counsel to former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.
Christie appointed Chiesa as United States Senator, where he served from January 10, 2012, until June 6, 2013.
Chiesa was The first Republican United States Senator for New Jersey since Nicholas F. Brady, who served in 1982 … more than 42 years ago.
Brady succeeded Harrison A. Williams as a United States Senator until a special election could be held.
Chiesa also did fabulous work in Atlantic City at the behest of Governor Christie.
The Chiesa law firm was awarded a legal services contract from the City of Atlantic City.
Below is a copy of the March 20, 2024 Atlantic City Council meeting agenda, when this issue came before City Council.
