Atlantic County, NJ, Senator: ‘Father Time Has Caught-up With Him’
New Jersey Senator Vince Polistina did not hold back today in a live, on-air interview … with his sharp and direct criticism of a fellow Republican leader … Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson.
“POLISTINA INVOKES “FATHER TIME.”
Amongst many issues raised, Polistina said:
Father Time has caught-up with him (Levinson).
Polistina also shared his disappointment with Levinson not attending two recent, major events:
LEVINSON MISSED THIS EVENT
Marco Polo Smigliani is a decorated military combat veteran, who Polistina shared, “earned 4 Purple Hearts within a 10-day timeframe.”
Smigliani was honored last Saturday at a ceremony that was held at the Egg Harbor Township Community Center. The event would have been held outdoors at Veterans Park, however, rain moved the event indoors.
Smigliani formally had a street named after him in Egg Harbor Township.
POLISTINA ON LEVINSON BEING AWOL
“He (Levinson) doesn’t go to work anymore. He sits in his recliner and calls radio stations, with his dogs barking in the background,” said Polistina.
Denny Levinson “was a scheduled speaker at this event,” said Polistina.
Levinson reached out to me and said that he was on his way to the Smigliani event, but, instead had to go to the hospital due to a family member issue.
Levinson has been very vocal with his public criticism of Polistina and Don Purdy, who is the Atlantic County Republican Party Chairman.
Results matter and Polistina and Purdy have been an unstoppable force in Atlantic County elections since Polistina’s return to the New Jersey Legislature.
Polistina also revealed that Levinson has publicly criticized him for receiving an increase in his state Senate salary.
I have fact-checked this allegation. Polistina earns the same $ 49,000 per-year that he did when he left the New Jersey General assembly back in 2008.
Polistina’s State Senate salary in 2025 is the same $ 49,000 per-year that he received nearly two decade ago.
The allegation simply has no basis in fact. During this same period of time, Levinson’s salary appears to have increased by approximately $ 67,000 per-year.
POLISTINA HAS RECEIVED SALARY INFORMATION ABOUT LEVINSON
Polistina compared the false salary allegation about him to information that he has received, which appears to show significant salary increases for Levinson … each and every year for the past 25 years.
The document has also been shared with me. It reports to show Levinson’s salary when he first became the county executive and what his salary is today.
Multiple Atlantic County sources have conveyed to me that this document (below) is accurate. I have not yet received absolute confirmation … so, both on-air (this morning) and here, I am treating this as alleged and not confirmed.
Polistina says, “I don’t want to believe that this is true (the Levinson alleged salary increases) … I think I’m being punked … but, I’m told it’s true,” said Polistina.
HERE’S THE DOCUMENT
Below, is the alleged Levinson annual salary increase document:
Purdy criticized Levinson about the annual salary increases, saying that “this document is 100% true”
”How did Denny get a more than $ 32,000 salary increase since COVID-19 (2020),” said Purdy.
”Until the past few years, they would have built a monument for Denny Levinson. But, not now,” said Purdy.
Purdy also shared that he receives “threatening text messages from Denny.”
Polistina was highly critical regarding Levinson’s absence from the recent event with United States Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy.
“This was an extraordinary important national event with Secretary Duffy and Congressman Jeff Van Drew,” said Polistina.
Polistina called it the “premier facility of its kind on the East Coast, where they are doing national aviation accident reconstruction work,” said Polistina.
Senator Polistina has had enough of Levinson, and today is the day that he decided to address the matter head on himself.
