Two men have been arrested following a shootout earlier this month in Burlington County.

2 Charged in South Jersey Shootout

38-year-old Shaun Causey and 32-year-old Jamaar White, both of Burlington City, are facing second-degree aggravated assault and related weapons charges.

White was taken into custody in Burlington City on June 16th and Causey was apprehended two days later in Greenville, NC.

Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia Bradshaw says on the afternoon of June 9th, officers from the City of Burlington Police Department were called to the 600 block of Bordentown Road for a report of shots fired.

Shots Fired While Running

Their investigation revealed that "Causey and White fired multiple rounds at one another while running along Bordentown and Columbus roads."

Neither was directly hit; White was grazed on his arm.

Authorities say a two-year-old child was playing outside when the gunfire began. One round went through the wall of a house and another penetrated a parked vehicle.

Bradshaw said in a statement,

Those who treat public streets as shooting galleries to settle personal vendettas, as these two defendants chose to do, will be swiftly caught and fully punished for their reckless behavior.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
