The Atlantic City, New Jersey Police Department is presently investigating an incident involving a car hitting a child.

We have confirmed through the Atlantic City Police Department that a child was flown to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The Atlantic City Police Department has released the following information about this incident:

On October 4, 2024, at 5:48 PM, patrol officers responded to the 2600 block of Fairmount Avenue in reference to a child struck by a motor vehicle. The child, 5, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was flown by helicopter to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ. The driver remained on scene and was not injured.

We have also confirmed that the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office is assisting the Atlantic City Police Department with this investigation.
