NJ Man Gets Prison Time in Social Media Sex Assault Case
A 23-year-old Delran man has been sentenced to seven years in state prison for sexually assaulting three underage girls and having child porn on his cell phone
Keith R. Desousa, Jr., had previoisly pleaded guilty to three counts of second-degree sexual assault and one count of third-degree possession of CSAM (child sexual abuse material) under a plea agreement with the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.
The sentence was handed down on January 9th.
Three Underage Victims
An investigation began in 2023 after one of the victims contacted police.
Authorities said Desousa used social media to communicate with all three victims, offering to sell or exchange marijuana and other drugs in exchange for sex.
“Children are our most vulnerable population, and the prevalence of social media makes it much easier for predators to gain access to them,” Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia Bradshaw said in a statement.
Other Victims?
Anyone who believes they may have been victimized by Desousa is asked to contact the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office's Special Victims Unit (609) 265-5035.
