Galloway, NJ, Man Pleads Guilty to Firearms, Narcotics & Eluding
The Atlantic County, New Jersey Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that a Galloway, New Jersey man has pleaded guilty to a variety of offenses as follows:
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office (ACPO) has confirmed the following:
On Monday, August 12, 2024, Halim Fisher, 25, of Galloway, NJ, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a handgun, eluding police, and possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute it. Under the terms of his plea agreement, Fisher is expected to be sentenced to an aggregate term of six years in New Jersey State Prison with 42 months of parole ineligibility under the Graves Act. Additionally, Fisher will be subject to a post-conviction Drug Offender Restraining Order for the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City, NJ, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
The facts surrounding this case are as follows:
Fisher was arrested on December 21, 2022, regarding an incident that occurred on the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City.
Fisher and another juvenile “distributed crack cocaine to a man inside of a convenience store. When police arrived at the store, Fisher was taken into custody and a narcotics scale and Ford car keys were recovered from his person. A search of the juvenile lead to the recovery of crack cocaine,” said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
The Atlantic City Police Department located a Ford Fusion which they determined that Fisher parked near where he was arrested. They ACPD has video evidence of Fisher parking the car.
“A court-approved search warrant later led to the recovery of a loaded handgun inside the glove compartment. The DNA laboratory confirmed that Fisher's DNA was present on the handgun,” said the Atlantic City Police Department.
Fisher pleaded to:
- two unrelated indictments charging him with eluding police during an attempted motor vehicle stop in Mays Landing, NJ, on June 2, 2023.
- possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute it on the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City on November 23, 2022.
New Jersey Superior Court Judge Donna M. Taylor denied Fisher’s request to be released, pending his sentencing.
