Flyers-Penguins 1st Round Schedule Announced

Playoff hockey is back in Philadelphia for the first time since the 2019-20 season. Naturally, there is great anticipation for when fans can see the first playoff game for the Philadelphia Flyers in nearly six years and witness the first home playoff game in Philadelphia since 2018.

The NHL released the first-round schedule early on Friday morning and it is as follows for the Flyers’ series against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

• Game 1 - Saturday, April 18 - 8 PM
• Game 2 - Monday, April 20 - 7 PM
• Game 3 - Wednesday, April 22 - 7 PM
• Game 4 - Saturday, April 25 - 8 PM
• Game 5 - Monday, April 27 - TBD (if necessary)
• Game 6 - Wednesday, April 29 - TBD (if necessary)
• Game 7 - Saturday, May 2 - TBD (if necessary)

Games will be televised locally on NBC Sports Philadelphia and nationally on ESPN and TNT. A full broadcast schedule will be updated later, but Game 1 is confirmed to be on both NBC Sports Philadelphia and ESPN. Game 2 will also be on ESPN. Game 3 will be on TNT and Game 4 will be on TBS. All games will air on 97.3 ESPN.

It will be a quick turnaround for the Flyers following the opening two games in Pittsburgh on Saturday and Monday. They will return home on Wednesday, April 22, for the first home playoff game since losing in Game 6 to Pittsburgh in the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs exactly eight years earlier.

There will be two days between Games 3 and 4 due to the Sixers playoff schedule against the Boston Celtics. The Flyers will then be back on the road for Game 5, if necessary, two days later, return home on Wednesday, April 29, for a potential Game 6, then have two days off before a potential Game 7 that will likely be in a primetime slot on Saturday, May 2.
