Man Indicted for Fatal Crash That killed Atlantic City, NJ Man

The Atlantic County, New Jersey Prosecutor’s Office has achieved an indictment of a Pleasantville, New Jersey man as a result of a fatal motor vehicle crash.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has revealed the following:

On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, Maykol J. Mendozarizo, 38, from Pleasantville, NJ was indicted by an Atlantic County Grand Jury for second-degree vehicular homicide related to an incident that occurred on November 19, 2023 in Atlantic City.

The circumstances surround this fatal crash are as follows, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office:

On November 19, 2023, at approximately 8:16 P.M., Mendozarizo was involved in a motor vehicle crash on Albany Avenue in Atlantic City. Mendozarizo's vehicle struck a pedestrian, Herberto Alicea, 61, from Atlantic City. Alicea was pronounced deceased because of the injuries he sustained. Subsequent investigation revealed Mendozarizo was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the motor vehicle crash.
