A scary situation for a couple of Wildwood residents as a man forced his way into their apartment and tried to attack the man and woman.

Wildwood Police say the incident happened on the night of Novmeber 21st in the 300 block of East Magnolia Avenue.

Police say they received a call about a man who forced his way into the residence, and when police arrived they actually found the man in the front of the address, still holding a crowbar-like weapon. That man, Donald Falcone, 62, of North Wildwood was stopped as officers investigated what occurred.

Here's what happened, according to Wildwood Police:

"...the victims were inside their residence when Falcone knocked on the door to their apartment. As the female victim opened the door, Falcone forced his way inside while holding a crowbar-type object in a manner which led her to believe that he was preparing to strike her. A male resident of the apartment who observed Falcone’s actions rushed to intervene, pushing Falcone backwards and away from the female victim.
Falcone then dropped the crowbar and retrieved two nearby kitchen knives. After a brief struggle, the victims were ultimately able to disarm Falcone, during which the male victim sustained a small laceration to his upper back. Falcone then exited the residence."

Police investigated and eventually charged Falcone with burglary, 2 counts of

aggravated assault, 2 counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, and 2 counts
possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. He was lodged in the Cape May County Jail.
The investigation is continuing.
