Emergency Medical Technician Angela Nichols was on her way into work at Exceptional Medical Transportation when she came across a burning car in the 700 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard in Atlantic City.

Nichols was able to pull the unconscious driver from the car before police arrived.

Atlantic City Police say a two car accident late Thursday night began the chain of events. Police say Maria Huichapan-Soto, 44, of Pleasantville was the woman pulled from the vehicle by Nichols.

Huichapan-Soto and the driver of the other vehicle, a 26-year old woman from Atlantic City, were both taken to the hospital for treatment of serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say Huichapan-Soto has been charged with DUI and other charges:

The accident remains under investigation.
