Bilal L. Freeman, 23, of Mays Landing, Hamilton Township, was identified and arrested by Atlantic City police who transferred him to Egg Harbor Township detectives. He's charged with robbery, aggravated assault and weapons counts.

EHT police did not specify when Freeman was apprehended but said that investigators are pursuing more leads to nail a second suspect.

According to initial details, police were summoned to Princeton Avenue in the Scullville section at about 9:50 PM. The victims were approached outside the house by two masked men, ordered into the garage. Their hands were bound with duct tape while the house was ransacked, police said.

The suspects were described as two thin black males, one wearing a hoodie and a "Halloween hockey mask." The other was described as wearing a dark-colored mask covering half his face.

Responding officers recovered two handguns which they believe were left by the suspects. They did not indicate whether the weapons were loaded. Police reiterated that, by their estimation, it's an isolated incident, and that the neighborhood is not at any increased safety risk.

Anyone with knowledge of the heist, or of the suspects, is urged to call the Egg Harbor Township Detective Bureau, 609-927-4051, or Atlantic County Crime Stoppers, 1-800-658-8477.

Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
