Opinion: Atlantic City Newspaper Wants You To Support Them – What?

OK... this just rubs me the wrong way.

Our local Atlantic City Newspaper wants you to subscribe to get unlimited access to their digital news stories, and they're asking you to "support local journalism."

What does that mean, "support local journalism"?

As a person who reads news stories online, don't give me this mushy line about supporting journalism... just tell me I'm buying the right to read your attempts at journalism. Frankly I don't care if your local journalism efforts succeed or fail... I don't feel the need to "support it."
