Overnight Fire Destroys Egg Harbor City Bar

Social media is buzzing this morning about an overnight fire at a bar in Egg Harbor City.

Few details have been confirmed yet about a fire at Luby's Bar and Packaged Goods at 814 Arago Street in Egg Harbor City.

Online Reviews talk fondly of Luby's Bar as a good spot for a drink, a pizza, and Jell-o shots.

The business was sold recently to new owners. There is a 2 or 3 bedroom home attached to the bar. It's not known if anyone was in the bar or the accompanying home at the time of the fire.

People on Egg Harbor City's Facebook group page are commenting about being awakened overnight by choking smoke from the fire.

When I called dispatch they said to stay in my home I’ll be safe. Not sure I can take this smoke...

 

Oh no! It's been there for ages!! My grandfather used to go every day for a shot and a beer and he lived to be 98.
I don't recall the name of the place back then. Sad.
