Stockton University has been chosen for a exclusive new program aimed at changing the college experience for freshmen.

According to The Press of Atlantic City, "Stockton University is one of 44 colleges chosen by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities to participate in the three-year “Re-Imagining the First Year of College” project.

The project's goal is to transform the first year of college to enhance students’ success in their undergraduate years and career."

Successfully navigating your freshmen year of college obviously plays a large role in a student's overall college experience.

This project will address ways to increase student retention and graduation rates, particularly among historically under-served populations.

“Attracting and retaining students, particularly low income, first generation, and students of color who are included in this AASCU program, is crucial to ensuring that the future of higher education remains not only relevant but also accessible to all,” said Stockton President Harvey Kesselman.

RFY is being funded by grants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and USA Funds.
