We took our own, wonderful tour of Historic Cold Spring Village, New Jersey, yesterday.

The history and the enthusiasm and dedication of the staff who work there is positively infectious.

To see a building structure (still standing) that is 100 years older than the founding of The United States of America is a surreal experience.

It’s known as The Coxe Cottage.and the brick fire place from 1691 still works and was burning all day.

We also had such a great time in the Cold Spring General Store, circa 1722.

The various items available to purchase, along with incredible things that are displayed from the 1700’s is a perfectly preserved time capsule that you walk through.

An original fire place from 1722 is still working and burns daily during the winter season.

Here are some exterior and interior photos of the Cold Spring General Store:

There are a total of 27 historic structures that they preserve. The substantial upkeep is funded by generous donations that keep Historic Cold Spring Village open on a year round basis.

When you visit, they suggest a $16.00 per-person donation.

You can also consider a Village Membership. There are Donation Boxes located at each Gate, Village Welcome Center, Friends Pavillion and at the Farm.

Membership Forms are available at the Welcome Center.

This will allow Historic Cold Springs Village to  preserve our past for future generations to come.

Here is a great graphic of all 27 historic buildings, with a capsule analysis of each one.
