Three people, including one student, were taken to a hospital for evaluation following a crash involving a school bus Tuesday morning in Hamilton Township.

Around 8:45 Tuesday morning, officers responded to Route 40 and Babcock Road in Mays Landing for a crash between a school bus and a SUV. An investigation revealed that the driver of the school bus, 65-year-old Carmen Goodnough of Galloway, was traveling west on Route 40 approaching Babcock Road when she made a left turn in front of a SUV being driven by 41-year-old Sandra S. Naji of Mays Landing.

The two drivers along with one student were transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for evaluation. The Township of Hamilton Rescue and AtlantiCare established a medical taskforce at the Hess School. All students involved were assessed by the task force and the school nurse.

The driver of the school bus was issued a summons for careless driving. The driver of the SUV was issued a summons for driving while suspended.
