A Millville man, who cops say may be responsible for multiple armed robberies at a gas station in Vineland, has been arrested.

According to Vineland Police, since last July, they have been investigating multiple armed robberies at the Riggins Gas Station on S. Main Rd. Cops say these robberies involved a black man approaching the gas attendant, displaying a handgun, and robbing the attendant of cash. One robbery happened in July, two in December, and two last month.

Through the use of surveillance video footage, cops were able to identify a specific vehicle that was linked to these incidents.

In a press release, cops say,

On January 13th, 2020, Detective Mercano was conducting surveillance in the area and noticed the accused vehicle in the area of the Riggins Gas Station. Det. Mercano stopped the vehicle which was operated by Fuquan S. Anderson - (36 Year old B/M of the 1700 block of Newcombtown Rd. in Millville). During the course of the stop, K9 Officer Derrick Magee and his partner "Fifa" arrived on the scene to assist in the stop. During the course of the MV stop Det. Mercano smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle. A search was conducted of the vehicle at the scene at which time the officers were able to locate a 9mm handgun that appeared to have been stuffed under the driver's seat by Anderson when he was stopped.

Anderson was arrested at the scene for Possession of Marijuana and Unlawful Possession of a Handgun. During the stop, Det. Mercano noted that Anderson was wearing distinctive type boots that were observed in surveillance video from the robberies. A Search Warrant was later obtained for the car and Anderson's residence and additional evidence was located linking Anderson to the Riggins robberies.
