
Atlantic County, New Jersey, Update On Fatal Car Crashes
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office is making progress regarding the focus of fatal car crashes. It’s called:
County of Atlantic Reduction and Enforcement for Fatal Crashes (CARE for Fatal Crashes).
Launches Second Operation
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has declared that they are making significant strides in road safety in multiple towns in Atlantic County.
The CARE for Fatal Crashes Task Force has successfully completed a second enforcement operation.
This latest operation, took place on July 7, 2025, involving:
- Egg Harbor Township.
- Linwood.
- Northfield.
- Pleasantville.
The focus is on dangerous driving behaviors and targeted high-risk accident areas.

”This ongoing partnership has already yielded impressive results, and this second operation marks a critical step forward in our efforts to curb fatal crashes. We are determined to keep the momentum going and continue sending a clear message that unsafe driving will not be tolerated in our community." said Pleasantville Police Chief Stacey Schlachter.

This operation reinforces the commitment we have made to improving road safety in our County by working as a team to keep our citizens safe," said Northfield Police Chief Mark VonColln.
Results Of The 2nd Phase
The second operation resulted with 105 motor vehicle stops, for a total of 92 summonses including four vehicles towed and four arrests on warrants.
Municipal breakdown of summonses issued:
- Egg Harbor Township: 28
- Linwood: 4
- Northfield: 9
- Pleasantville: 51

Saint Christopher’s Mass
To recognize the victims and families impacted by motor vehicle crashes, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office is hosting a Saint Christopher's Mass to honor the Patron Saint of Travelers.
The special Healing Mass will take place on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Absecon, New Jersey.
