Former South Jersey Teacher Sentenced in Student Sex Assault Case
A former South Jersey high school teacher has been sentenced on charges related to the repeated sexual assault of a former student.
Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill Mayer says 37-year-old Bridget Sipera of Cherry Hill, who formerly worked as a teacher at Camden Catholic High School, pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child and was sentenced to four years in state prison on Friday.
Mayer's office says Sipera was charged last August after an investigation revealed she repeatedly sexually assaulted a student beginning in January, 2019, when the student was 17-years-old. Detectives said the sexual assault continued through March, 2020.
Under the sentencing agreement, Sipera must forfeit her teaching license and credentials, register under Megan’s Law, undergo lifelong supervised parole, and have no contact with the victim or the victim’s family.
