
Four Teens Arrested, Gun and Drugs Recovered in Atlantic City
Atlantic City Police say a handgun was recovered and four teenagers were arrested after they failed to pull over during a traffic stop Friday evening.
According to authorities, just before 7:00, an ACPD officer attempted to stop a vehicle after receiving information that the driver did not have a license. Once the officer activated his lights, the vehicle sped-off. As more officers arrived in the area, the vehicle finally pulled over in the 200 block of Albany Avenue.
Cops say the four occupants, two 14-year-old males and two 16-year-old males, were taken into custody. The two younger males were each found in possession of marijuana. One of the older males was found in possession of cocaine. A loaded handgun was found inside the vehicle.
One 16-year-old juvenile male from Atlantic City has been charged with eluding, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. The other three were all charged with eluding, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. All four were remanded to the Harborfields Detention Facility.
