NJ Man’s Body Found in 6 Plastic Containers — Wife, Brother-in-Law Charged

BERGENFIELD — A Bergen County woman and her brother have been charged with dumping the body of the woman's husband in six different plastic containers in Burlington County.

They have not been charged with his killing.

The body parts of Randolph Smith, 44, were found Jan. 12 in Burlington City, more than 80 miles away from his home.

His wife, Adrienne Smith, reported him missing from their Bergenfield residence on Jan. 2. She said he had not been seen since Christmas evening.

Authorities have not said when, where or how Smith was killed — or who did it.

But investigators in both counties do believe that Smith and her brother, Orville Cousins, 40, of the Bronx, purchased materials on Dec. 26 that were used to desecrate Smith's remains.

Cousins, who is unemployed, was arrested Jan. 15 in New York while Smith, 43, a surgical technician, was arrested Friday at a relative's house in North Brunswick. They were charged with second-degree desecration of human remains and third-degree hindering apprehension.

Prosecutors have not charged anyone with the slaying.
