One Arrested, One Sought in Atlantic City Armed Robbery
Cops in Atlantic City have arrested a man and are searching for another following an armed robbery in the city Monday morning.
Just before noon Monday, the ACPD says their officers responded to an apartment in the 1300 block of Caspian Avenue for a report of a robbery. The victim, a 29-year-old woman, was robbed by two men at gunpoint inside her residence, according to police. The men, who stole money, were tracked by Surveillance Center personnel running into an adjacent building.
Later that night, officers responded back to the 1300 block of Caspian Avenue for the report of a fight. Cops were advised that one of the suspects from the robbery was present during that fight. After a search, 22-year-old Hiram Woods of Atlantic City was located. Woods was one of the men in the surveillance photograph and he was arrested without incident. Initially, Woods provided an alias an officer but his true identity was determined. He was also found to have an active warrant for his arrest.
Authorities are still trying to determine the identity of the second masked suspect.
Woods has been charged with robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, hindering apprehension, conspiracy, violation of the emergency orders, and contempt of court. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
