
One Man Arrested, Atlantic City Cop Injured During Gun Call
An Atlantic City police officer was injured and one man was arrested following the report of a man with a gun and a large group of people in a fight in the city Tuesday evening.
The ACPD says they responded to the 4000 block of Ventnor Avenue around 5:15 and a man matching the description of the person armed with a gun was located. According to a press release, an officer attempted to stop 19-yeaer-old Kenneth Landis, Jr., of Atlantic City, but he ran away. During the chase, the officer, who is a 24-year veteran of the force, was injured and Landis fled down an alley; he later surrendered to a detective.
Landis was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice and disorderly conduct; he was released on a summons with a future court date. The injured officer was treated at a local hospital and released.
