The Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office says two people have been arrested in connection to the fatal shooting of a man in Millville last month.

On Friday, February 17th, Millville Police responded to the area of 4th and E Streets for reports of shots fired.

At the scene, officers located 34-year-old Lamont O. Jones, Jr., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. He was pronounced dead shortly thereafter at Cooper Hospital in Camden.

On Monday, authorities say 30-year-old Maurice L. Jones of Vineland and 31-year-old Edwin I. Torres of Philadelphia were arrested in connection to the homicide.

Both subjects have been charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit murder and weapons offenses.

The State has moved for pre-trial detention of both individuals. Jones' detention hearing is scheduled for Tuesday and Torres’ on March 13th.
