Atlantic City International Airport & Spirit Air Atlantic City, NJ Flight
Some might say that they were just doing their jobs. I disagree. There are times when people dedicate themselves and go above and beyond.
Atlantic City International Airport
Did an amazing job since the significant snow, sleet and rain event known as winter storm “Fern.”
While 21,108 flights have been cancelled over the past two days … one of them was not Spirit Air Flight # 2012 of Monday morning, January 26, 2026.
Spirit Air
This morning’s flight actually took off 8 minutes early and landed 11 minutes early in Orlando International Airport in Florida.
Can you imagine how happy the hundreds of people scheduled to fly on this plane were to be able to enjoy their vacations in Florida — under the current weather conditions?
Spirit Air — Airbus A320
Must reach a ground speed of 170 miles per hour in order to take off.
Of course, this means that the Atlantic City International Airport runway must be clear and safe.
The ACY staff did a great job reopening the airport this morning.
The Airbus A320 requires between 3,900 to 6,900 feet of runway to reach takeoff speed — depending on weight and atmospheric conditions.
If you thought that shoveling your driveway was a tough assignment, imagine having to clear 7,000 feet of snow and ice on the runway … along with the additional areas in order to taxi the airplane to the runway.
Happy Passengers
Kristin Hurley Baker and Jon Baker were on board today’s Spirit Air flight.
They arrived safe and early. They are very grateful.
Thank You Atlantic City International Airport & Spirit Air
For making it possible for hundreds of people to make new memories in Florida.
