Two Arrested, Gun and Drugs Recovered in Atlantic City
Two people from Atlantic City are facing a list of charges after cops executed a search warrant in the city Thursday morning.
According to a press release, ACPD detectives executed a search warrant in the 300 block of Tennessee Avenue Thursday that was the culmination of a month-long investigation into drug distribution.
33-year-old Christopher Weldon and 40-year-old Shanita Boyd, both of Atlantic City, were arrested after detectives located a loaded handgun, 40 grams of cocaine, a quantity of phencyclidine (PCP), and paraphernalia used to distribute narcotics inside the residence.
Weldon was charged with two counts each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a public zone, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, and a single count each of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, certain person not to possess a weapon, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
Boyd was charged with two counts each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a public zone, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, and a single count each of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
Both were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
