Thunderstorms Bring Winter Back to New Jersey
Winter makes one last stand Thursday before spring begins next week.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for Atlantic, Cape May, Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties until 10 p.m. as line of thunderstorms along a cold front moves across New Jersey for locally heavy rain and strong winds that could gust to 50 MPH. A Wind Advisory is also in effect for the same area until Thursday afternoon.
There is lesser chance of thunderstorms for the rest of the state as temperatures plummet into the 20s after reaching well into the 60s on Wednesday.
Precipitation may change over to a mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow, and create slick conditions in parts of New Jersey early Thursday. Up to an inch of snow is possible in the higher terrain of northern Sussex County.
