NJ High School Playoff Football Game Postponed After Threat

A possible security threat at a South Jersey high school playoff football game scheduled for Friday night has caused the postponement of the game until Saturday.

The NJSIAA Group 3 state semifinal playoff game between Delsea Regional and Camden was postponed after Franklin Township Police Department received unconfirmed information regarding a security threat that was to occur at the game.

“Unconfirmed information regarding a security threat that was to occur at tonight’s Delsea vs Camden playoff game” and the origin of the unspecified threat remains underdetermined, police said Friday afternoon on Facebook

The game has been rescheduled for Saturday at 11 am at Delsea High, in Gloucester County..

The incident was immediately investigated by detectives and the origin of the threat is undetermined at this time. After speaking with school administration and with the utmost emphasis on the safety and security of the players, coaches, staff and spectators; the decision has been made to postpone tonight’s football game.

The Facebook message said fans would have to pass through a metal detector to get into Saturday's game.

Franklin Twp. Police promised that "security of tomorrow’s game will be immense and our number one priority is to protect all of the families, friends, and spectators that attend tomorrow’s game with all resources that are available."
