Longtime Atlantic City Bar Reopens With New Name & Owners

The latest addition to Atlantic City nightlife is the reopening of a 30-year favorite with a new name and a fresh new look.

Atlantic City's King's Pub Has Grand Opening

King's Pub opened its doors Monday on the site of the former Pic-A-Lillii Pub on South Tennessee Avenue in Atlantic City.

What Happened to Atlantic City's Pic-A-Lilli Pub?

Not long after celebrating 30 years in Atlantic City, the Pic-A-Lilli Pub closed its doors in late 2022. The small, neighborhood bar with a reputation for outstanding wings was the sister restaurant to the family's remaining restaurants in Shamong and Medford.

Who Owns King's Pub?

Atlantic City residents Dimitris Ostrovskis, 40, and Michael Ghabryal, 32, are first-time bar owners who bought the building at 231 S. Tennessee Ave in May for $410,000.

Ostrovskis told the Press of Atlantic City they saw the ad for the business on the internet. "We saw it online being advertised. We did our research, and this was what we were looking for for a new venture."

What Can We Expect at King's Pub?

I visited on Tuesday and found the building to have undergone renovations inside and out.

The much-needed freshening up includes newly stained walls and a more upscale presentation. The barroom is friendly with lots of TVs and the space seems like a good addition to Atlantic City's Orange Loop.

The food is all fresh, according to Mike, the bartender, a holdover from the Pic-A-Lilli.

The opening, trial menu offers burgers, cheesesteaks and sandwiches, and several fish entrees. Yes, King's Pub does serve wings. Time will tell if they become as popular as the old Pic-A-Lilli Pub.
