Farley Plaza Honors Egg Harbor Woman’s 45 Years of Service
The South Jersey Transportation Authority recently celebrated the long career of an Egg Harbor City woman.
Gloria Koehler, 76, has been working cleaning bathrooms and the lobby at the Atlantic City Expressway's Frank Farley Service Plaza for 45 years.
Longtime Farley Plaza Worker Honored
A ceremony was held at the rest stop to honor Gloria for her longevity and her kind and friendly nature.
Co-workers and customers stood and clapped as Gloria was awarded a plaque for her long tenure working at the plaza.
Gloria said she loves what she does and has no plans to retire.
"I appreciate it so much...I'm happy to be here working, and as long as I can work I'll still keep going," said Koehler.
An SJTA Salue To Gloria
In a Facebook post last week, the South Jersey Transportation Authority showed it cares about its employees with a touching post honoring Gloria...
If you've ever stopped at the Farley Plaza along the Atlantic City Expressway, chances are you've been greeted, knowingly or not, by a constant in an ever-changing world: Ms. Gloria Koehler.
For 45 years, through every season and thousands of travelers, Gloria has been a quiet, smiling presence, helping keep the rest stop running smoothly. Though her role is mostly behind the scenes, her impact is anything but. She's part of what makes this place feel like a small comfort on a long road.
This week, the SJTA, and Applegreen, the plaza’s operator, celebrated her incredible longevity, her dedication, and the familiar smile that has welcomed generations of travelers. Thank you, Gloria, for being part of the fabric of our roadway.
Here’s to the hands that keep everything moving, and the hearts that make the journey brighter.
